The Jamaica College Old Boys Association (JCOBA) website was launched in February 1995, primarily as a means of communication for JC's Alumni. However, the mission of the website took on new meaning when it was suggested among the alumni that the JCOBA Online could provide a source of information to Alumni and friends of Jamaica College. There are more than four hundred Old Boys in more than five countries listed on JCOBA Online. The list is extensive and includes alumni as far back as 1939. The mission for the JCOBA Online continues to define itself. It now seeks to mobilize its resources to help return the College to its storied background of excellence in the development of powerful Jamaican men. Indeed, Jamaica College has graduated a number of distinguished men who have given selflessly to the development of Jamaica. The JCOBA Online promotes the ideal...to return Jamaica College men to leading roles in society. It will be hard work, but as Jamaica College Men everywhere will profess: Floreat collegium, fervet opus in campis (May the college flourish, work is burning in the field). We invite you to tour our site; let us know what you think. Our website features information on our history, school literature and religion, our distinguished old boys (leaders of society), current old boys with access to this electronic medium as well as current information in sports and business related to the school. We exist to support our alma mater, and know that in doing so we will forever influence the education of Jamaica's youth. The JCOBA Online exists concurrently with, and fully supports other established Jamaica College Old Boys Associations present in Jamaica, Canada and the USA (NY). |
